Smart Start IT is a small, founder-run IT company. Bristol headquarters, a team that is distributed by design, and one standard for every client: do it properly.
01 · The founder
Meet Declan.
Declan Smith started Smart Start IT to give small UK businesses the kind of IT support he would want himself: plain English, one fixed monthly price, and someone who actually picks up the phone.
He still runs the company day to day and takes the introductory calls personally, so your first conversation is with the person accountable for the work, not a salesperson. If we are not a sensible fit, he will tell you straight and point you somewhere that is.

Technical Analyst
Jeaconia manages the technical side behind the work. She makes sure every setup is built properly, documented and running the way it should, so the details are handled before they ever become your problem.

Distributed by design. Accountable by default.
Bristol headquarters, a team spread across time zones, and a founder who spends part of the year in Bali. These are the habits that keep it feeling like one small, joined-up team.
Plain English, always
No jargon, and no acronym without an explanation. If you have to ask what we meant, we did not write it well enough.
Proactive, not reactive
Licence renewals, tired kit, the security gap you will need to close next. You hear about it from us before it becomes a problem.
Everything written down
Every client setup is documented, so whoever picks up your request already knows your systems. Nobody starts from scratch.
UK company, UK standards
A UK Ltd, ICO registered, with UK contracts and UK data residency. The phone is answered in UK office hours.
One monthly price
One fee per person, no lock-in. We earn next month by doing this month properly.

If something is not worth doing, or we are not the right fit for you, we say so. Honest advice beats an upsell.
